El fracaso y abandono escolar de alumnos con altas capacidades se relaciona con la ineficacia con la que el propio sistema educativo afronta las necesidades educativas de este alumnado, y que la Ley exige. Son el gran olvidado, a pesar de ser considerados Alumnos con Necesidades Educativas de Apoyo Educativo. La familia, como medida educativa para atender a este alumnado, y la escuela deben estar coordinadas, pues, el estilo educativo parental y el contexto de desarrollo del infante están implicados en la potenciación de alta capacidad.
La escuela para padres con niños de alta capacidad intelectual es una herramienta óptima para cultivar los saberes sobre esta condición y enriquecer el conocimiento y la práctica educativa para potenciar la alta capacidad.
