    Cet article s’intéresse aux conditions d’émergence et de déploiement d’une mobilisation collective de mères portant le foulard contre la circulaire Chatel qui interdit le port de signes religieux aux parents accompagnateurs lors de sorties scolaires. L’étude du collectif Sorties scolaires : avec nous ! (2012-2015) permet d’observer la construction d’une cause dans un cadre fortement contraint où le foulard des accompagnatrices scolaires est désigné comme une atteinte à la laïcité. Les mères accompagnatrices se mobilisent contre leur exclusion par une campagne d’interpellation des autorités scolaires et politiques au plan local et national et par une demande d’égalité de traitement et de citoyenneté. Ce cadrage tend à contourner la mise en cause de visibilité religieuse musulmane (hijab) par la circulaire Chatel qui devient l’objet d’un dissensus dans la lutte contre l’islamophobie.

    This article focuses on the conditions of emergence and deployment of a movement by mothers wearing the headscarf for the repeal of the Chatel circular which forbids parents wearing religious signs to accompany school trips. The case study of the collective Sorties scolaires : avec nous ! [School trips: with us!] (2012-2015) allows us to trace the construction of a cause in a strongly constrained environment in which the veil of accompanying mothers is perceived as a violation of laïcité principles. Accompanying mothers mobilize against their exclusion by campaigning to school and political authorities at the local and national level and demanding equal treatment and citizen rights. This framing tends to avoid the questioning of Muslim religious visibility (hijab) by the Chatel circular, which is becoming the object of a dissensus in the fight against Islamophobia.
