Resumen de O apoio da social-democracia alemã a democratização portuguesa (1974-1975)

Since the late 1960s that the German social-democracy, not only the Social Democratic Party (SPD), but also the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), sought to develop a policy towards the democratization of Portugal. We can say that this strategy was developed in two parallel levels. On the one hand, maintaining good diplomatic relations with the Portuguese regime; on the other hand, especially after finding that Marcelismo would not lead to political liberalization, through the support – political, material and moral – to the socialist opposition to the Estado Novo. The revolution of 25 April 1974 accelerated this German policy of supporting democratization Portuguese, benefiting from the existing contacts.

Depuis les années 1960, la social-démocratie allemande, non seulement le Parti social-démocrate (SPD) mais aussi la Fondation Friedrich Ebert (FES), a cherché à développer une politique de soutien à la démocratisation du Portugal. Cette stratégie a été élaborée en deux niveaux parallèles. D’une part, le maintien de bonnes relations diplomatiques avec le régime portugais, d’autre part, surtout après avoir constaté que le Marcelismo ne conduirait pas à la libéralisation, le soutien politique – matériel et moral – a l’opposition socialiste à l’Estado Novo. La révolution du 25 Avril 1974 a accéléré cette politique de soutien à la démocratisation portugaise, profitant des contacts existants.

Desde o final da década de 1960 que a social-democracia alemã, não só o Partido Social-Democrata (SPD), mas também a Fundação Friedrich Ebert (FES), procurou desenvolver uma política orientada para a democratização de Portugal. Podemos dizer que essa estratégia foi desenvolvida em dois níveis paralelos. Por um lado, a manutenção de boas relações diplomáticas com o regime português; por outro lado, especialmente após a constatação de que o Marcelismo não iria conduzir a uma liberalização política, o apoio – político, material e moral – à oposição socialista ao Estado Novo. A revolução de 25 de Abril de 1974 acelerou esta política alemã de apoio à democratização portuguesa, beneficiando dos contactos já existentes.
