Los tiempos difíciles que afronta la Unión Europea han propiciado que se multipliquen los EE.MM. de ideas incompatibles con el acervo comunitario. Estos se enfrentan entre sí separados por un frente europeísta y otro nacionalista.
Cuando han transcurrido más de nueve meses desde la invasión rusa de Ucrania, la Unión Europea intenta hacer frente, como cuestiones más urgentes, al desacoplamiento energético, a la inflación y a la lucha contra el cambio climático. Para responder a esos retos es necesario transformar las reglas fiscales, como parte sustantiva de la unión monetaria, cuestión difícil en la que existen fuertes enfrentamientos. No obstante, el devenir de la Unión demuestra que se avanza respondiendo a las crisis. Europa es como una bicicleta y necesita movimiento y mayor fuerza cuesta arriba.
Como no tiene sentido sacar de la evolución general de la UE la evolución del euro, la unión monetaria se nos presenta como el medio oportuno para lograr la unión política europea.

The difficult times faced by the European Union have led to the multiplication of the US-MM with ideas that are incompatible with the Community acquis. These are facing each other separated by a pro-European and a nationalist front.
More than nine months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the European Union is trying to tackle, as the most urgent issues, energy decoupling, inflation and the fight against climate change.
In order to meet these challenges, it is necessary to transform the fiscal rules as a substantive part of the monetary union, a difficult issue on which there are strong clashes. However, the evolution of the Union shows that progress is made by responding to crises.
Europe is like a bicycle and needs movement and greater strength uphill.
As it does not make sense to take the evolution of the euro out of the general evolution of the EU, monetary union is presented to us as the appropriate means to achieve European political union.
