En esta nota se estudian los aspectos geológicos y mineralógicos del yacimiento de Santa Constanza. La mineralización es filoniana, con un estrecho control estructural.
La mena está formada principalmente por calcopirita, cobres grises, pirita, calcosina, covellina, bornita, cobre nativo, siderita, etc., con cuarzo y barita como minerales de la ganga.
Hay una primera zona de enriquecimiento supergénico de sulfuros (con calcosina, covellina, bornita, etc.) y una segunda de gossan o montera de hierro (con óxidos e hidróxidos de hierro, malaquita, etc.) bien diferenciadas.
La mineralización es hidrotermal de baja temperatura y está afectada por varios sistemas modernos de diaclasas.

The mineralization has a vein character and it is structurally controlled.
The ore is composed by chalcopyrite, fahlore group, pyrit, chalcopyrite, covellite, bornite, native copper, siderite, etc., with quartz and baryte as ganga minerals.
Two well-defined zones have been established inside the ore body: a first zone of secondary sulphide enrichment (with chalcocite, covellite, bornite, etc.) and a second one of gossan or iron hat (with iron oxide and hydroxide minerals, malachite, etc.).
The mineralization has a low-temperature hydrothermal character and has been affected by several systems of joints.
