El artículo recoge la evolución histórica de la seguridad en la región centroamericana, desde el inicio de CONDECA hasta el nacimiento del tratado marco de seguridad democrática, TMSD. También se aborda la nueva institucionalidad surgida de la firma del TMSD, así como los retos y desafíos actuales en el panorama de la seguridad en Centroamérica.

The article covers the historical evolution of security in the central american region, from the beginning of CONDECA to the birth of the democratic security framework treaty, TMSD. It also discusses the new institutional framework that emerged from the signing of the TMSD, as well as the current challenges in the security panorama in Central America.
