La mediación familiar en el consumo audiovisual infantil: Recomendaciones para un contexto educativo desafiante

    En la actualidad constituye un reto para la familia el acompañamiento a los niños en el consumo de materiales audiovisuales teniendo en cuenta horarios, tiempo de exposición y tipos de contenido. Sin lugar a duda, el hogar se configura como el principal y más importante espacio de consumo, y es este contexto social; con su experiencia interactiva, que podrá ajustar estilos de mediación para reducir los riesgos físicos, cognitivos, psicológicos y sociales del proceso de recepción audiovisual. La dejación de la función educativa de la familia propiciada por múltiples factores; entre ellos la falta de preparación, acrecienta los potenciales efectos nocivos. Es así que, atendiendo a estas consideraciones y a los análisis realizados a partir de varias investigaciones relacionadas con las estrategias de mediación familiar, se propone en esta obra un folleto de recomendaciones destinado a la familia, para la asunción del complejo proceso de acompañamiento; las que, sin constituir camisa de fuerza, favorecen el desafío educativo. Por su valor instructivo y metodológico la propuesta resulta pertinente además para el trabajo de profesionales encargados de orientar y asesorar a esta agencia educativa.

    Currently, it is a challenge for the family to accompany children in the consumption of audiovisual materials, taking into account schedules, exposure time and types of content. Undoubtedly, the home is configured as the main and most important space of consumption, and it is this social context; with its interactive experience, which will be able to adjust mediation styles to reduce the physical, cognitive, psychological and social risks of the audiovisual reception process. The abandonment of the educational function of the family propitiated by multiple factors; among them the lack of preparation, increases the potential harmful effects. Thus, in response to these considerations and the analyzes carried out from various investigations related to family mediation strategies, a booklet of recommendations for the family is proposed in this work, for the assumption of the complex process of accompaniment; those that without constituting a straitjacket, favor the educational challenge. Due to its instructive and methodological value, the proposal is also relevant for the work of professionals in charge of guiding and advising this educational agency.
