Les conjonctions de causalité et leur grammaticalisation

    Dans cet article, nous étudierons d’abord la nature du lien causal entre deux propositions pour regarder ensuite les pistes de grammaticalisation des marqueurs subordonnants de la causalité. Nous montrerons les bases cognitives de la grammaticalisation des locutions conjonctives de causalité et nous vérifierons le résultat de cette grammaticalisation des connecteurs parce que et puisque dans les textes de la Base du Moyen Français. Le changement sémantique des locutions françaises sera comparé à celui d’autres langues. Finalement, nous exposerons des conclusions sur la méthode de décrire ces changements en termes de grammaticalisation.

    In this paper we will first examine the nature of the causal relationship between two clauses in order to then look at the paths of grammaticalisation of the subordinate markers of the causality. We will show the cognitive bases of the grammaticalisation of causal conjunctive phrases and will verify the result of this grammaticalisation of the connectors parce que and puisque in the texts of Frantext Moyen Francais. The semantic change of the French phrases will be compared to that of other languages. Finally, we will draw conclusions on the method of description of these changes in terms of grammaticalisation.
