    Este artículo analiza la evolución de la prensa costarricense en los convulsos primeros treinta años del siglo XX. El objetivo es exponer los cambios y las continuidades en la forma de hacer periodismo y conocer como el contexto afecta a la empresa periodística. El ensayo recorre las redacciones y los contenidos de la prensa y su vinculación con grupos políticos organizados y las fuentes de financiamiento y a su vez se introduce en el funcionamiento de las empresas.

    This article analyzes the evolution of costarican press during the first thirty years of the XX Century. It is focused on the exposing of changes and continuities and the way to do journalism and to know how this affects the press, as an organization, the context in which it is developed. This article deals with the writings and the contents of the press and its entailment with the political organized groups and the financing sources. As well the article introduces the reader in the operational system of the companies.
