    Los cursos online en el ámbito universitario constituyen un esencial recurso formativo que posibilitaal alumnado una formación complementaria y especializada, esencial, en el proceso de aprendizajesuperior conforme a las diferentes titulaciones que conforman los Planes de Estudios Oficiales. Unode los principales propósitos que se plantean es el desarrollo de competencias profesionales de forma tal que posibiliten enriquecer y mejorar el curriculum de los estudiantes con programas orientadosa complementar la formación reglada, facilitando profundizar en el aprendizaje en cuestiones queconforme a la configuración de los planes de estudio no cuentan con el detalle que, en ocasiones,sería adecuado pero también con una meta clara: incrementar el potencial del estudiante de cara asus futuras opciones de empleabilidad. Sin obviar, ha de insistirse, en el carácter complementario quelos cursos online tienen, constituyen un recurso muy valioso que posibilita al estudiante formarse demanera especializada en aquella o aquellas materias que en un futuro pueden resultar esencialespara su acceso al mercado laboral y que perfectamente pueden simultanear con su formación universitaria. De hecho, son muchas las Universidades que cada vez más apuestan por los mismos precisamente por las posibilidades que ofrecen, algunas de las cuales son objeto de análisis y valoraciónen la presente comunicación.

    Online courses in the university environment constitute an essential training resource that providesstudents with complementary and specialized training, essential, in the higher learning process in accordance with the different degrees that make up the Official Study Plans. One of the main purposesthat are proposed is the development of professional skills in such a way that they make it possible toenrich and improve the curriculum of students with programs aimed at complementing regulated training, facilitating deepening of learning in issues that, according to the configuration of the study plansdo not have the detail that, on occasions, would be adequate but also with a clear goal: to increasethe potential of the student with a view to their future employability options. Without forgetting, it mustbe insisted on the complementary nature that online courses have, they constitute a very valuable resource that enables the student to train in a specialized way in that or those subjects that in the futuremay be essential for their access to the labor market and that they can perfectly combine with theiruniversity education. In fact, there are many Universities that are increasingly betting on them preciselybecause of the possibilities they offer, some of which are the object of analysis and assessment in thiscommunication.
