    En este artículo se analizan las teorías tradicionales y actuales del federalismo y los diferentes modelos del federalismo moderno. Se realiza una aclaración conceptual sobre los términos federación, Estado federal y federalismo. Adicionalmente, se desarrolla el tema de la distribución de competencias legislativas en el federalismo mexicano, comenzando con las bases constitucionales y jurisprudenciales, para concluir con la evolución del contenido del artículo 124 de la Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, tomando en cuenta que México integra federalismo dual, flexibilidad para la distribución de competencias legislativas, complejidad por jurisdicción legislativa concurrente, federal y local.

    This article is schematized starting with an introduction to the federal state theories, including federalism traditional theories and federalism current theories, it also includes the federal models within the modern federalism as the particularity oh every federal system; thereafter, the terms federation, federal state and federalism are reviewed and clarified. Continuously and entering into the study of the topic referred on our article’s title we develop the distribution of the legislative jurisdiction in the Mexican federalism, starting with constitutional and judicial basis, and finishing with the evolution of content included in article 124 of our Mexican Constitution. México holds a dual federalism, distribution of legislative jurisdiction’s flexibility and complexity due to concurrent legislative jurisdiction, federal and local.
