    L’exposició es centra en tres temes: en primer lloc, planteja una reflexió sobre el concepte de cultura popular partint de la idea que la tradició és la forma en què una comunitat s’apropia del llegat rebut del passat i el manté i/o el modifica tot atribuint-li un valor de reconeixement de identitat; en segon lloc, es posen alguns exemples d’apropiació cultural en la cultura de Menorca i es fa un breu repàs a les manifestacions de la cultura popular menorquina en els darrers anys; finalment es subratlla el paper de les associacions populars en el manteniment de la tradició.

    The exposition focuses on three themes: First, it set out a reflection on the concept of popular culture based on the idea that tradition is the way in which a community appropriates of the legacy received from the past and maintains it and/or modifies it giving to the same a value of recognition of identity. Second, it shows some examples of cultural appropriation on the culture of Minorca and makes a brief review to the demonstrations of the Minorca popular culture in the last years. Finally, it underlines the role of the popular associations on the preservation of the tradition.
