  • Resumen
    • Decades after the global turn in international historiography, historians con- tinue to address issues relating to globalization in the early modern age. New World Objects of Knowledge: A Cabinet of Curiosities, edited by Mark Thurner and Juan Pimentel, provides original answers to recurrent questions on the nature of globalization from the sixteenth century to the present. The book fea- tures a gallery of Mirabilia from Latin America. It is divided into two sections, artificialia and naturalia (inspired by the German Wunderkammern, Spanish Gabinetes, and Italian Studioli of the Renaissance and Early Modern periods), with each object given its own chapter. The authors invite the reader into a museum of wonders from the post-1492 New World using easy-to-understand language. However, while the authors express their desire to be open to a non- specialist audience, the historiography is meticulous, referencing all up-to-date bibliography.
