    This theoretical article considers the conditions conducive to emancipation in coaching from the complex perspective of psychosociology and clinical sociology. This framework allows us to portray the constrained organizational system in which coaching is embedded as an entanglement of contradictory tensions that form knots, with which one should compose in order to restore capacity for action. This article contributes to consolidating the conceptual bases of the still under-theorized discipline of coaching, and offers an analytical grid to practitioners, as well as four key capacities likely to support the emancipatory work of the coachee through coaching.

    Cet article théorique pense les conditions propices à l’émancipation dans le coaching à partir de la perspective complexe de la psychosociologique et de la sociologie clinique. Ce cadre permet de présenter le système organisationnel contraint dans lequel le coaching s’insère comme un enchevêtrement de tensions contradictoires qui forment des nœuds, avec lesquels il s’agit de composer pour s’en dégager. Cet article contribue à consolider les bases conceptuelles de la discipline du coaching encore sous-théorisée, et propose aux praticiens une grille analytique, ainsi que quatre capacités clés susceptibles de soutenir le travail émancipatoire du coaché par le coaching.
