Objective: To analyze the impact of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic on the adherence to care plans in a healthcare center. Methods: A retrospective observational study of the data stored on nursing methodology using Selene software. This study compared the number of care plans completed in different units, transformed for the care of Covid-19 patients during the weeks of the first wave of the pandemic in Spain, in relation to the same weeks of a previous year. In addition, the linearity or non-linearity of the trend in intra-unit completion was analyzed. Results: In all the units analyzed, the maximum peak of occupancy by Covid-19 patients coincided with the greatest decrease in the registration of care plans, except for one unit. A rapid recovery was observed, which suggests the adaptive capacity of the teams. The possible causes and implications are analyzed from the management point of view. Conclusions Conversion into a Covid-19 unit implies a great adaptive effort for nursing staff, from both a care and organizational perspective. However, professionals appear to adapt quickly and recover the records system as soon as stability is regained.
