    La presente investigación parte de la premisa que la clasificación del régimen cubano carece de un marco teórico integral y un examen sistemático de los patrones empíricos para comprender mejor la política digital de Cuba. Por tanto, se recopilan diferentes criterios sobre la categorización del autoritarismo cubano, donde se tiene en cuenta la evolución histórica, para culminar con la exposición de esas características en el escenario político digital, que será nuestra evidencia de caso. El estudio tiene uncarácter cualitativo, con apoyo de los métodos lógico-histórico de la teoría social marxista y revisión sistemática de la literatura. Se examinan investigaciones publicadas sobre el tema en este siglo con el objetivo de identificar elementos claves de la relación del tipo de régimen con las políticas digitales. A partir de ese desarrollo se concluye que otro camino de ideas se abre a medida que las TICs se van haciendo frecuentes en la isla y, mientras unos apuestan por romper los viejos adagios que han carcomido al sistema cubano, a través de distintas variantes que promueven estas tecnologías; los otros, aferrados al poder, también han aprendido a usar a su favor las bondades que ofrecen el Internet y su gama de aplicaciones.

    The following paper starts from the premise that the classification of the Cuban regime lacks a comprehensive theoretical framework and a systematic examination of empirical patterns to better understand Cuba's digital politics. Therefore, the research compiles different criteria on the categorization of Cuban authoritarianism, where the historical evolution is taken into account, to culminate with the exposition of those characteristics in the digital political scenario, which will be our case evidence. The study has a qualitative character and is supported by the logical-historical methods of the marxist social theory and systematic review of the literature. It examines the research published on the subject in this century with the aim of identifying the key elements of the relationship between regime type and digital policies on the Internet. From this development it is concluded that another path of ideas opens up as ICTs become more frequent on the island and, while some are betting on breaking the old adages that have eaten away at the Cuban system, through different variants that promote these technologies; the others, clinging to power, have also learned to use to their advantage the benefits offered by the Internet and its range of applications.
