Resumen de La construcción mediática de la sostenibilidad: estrategias discursivas y representaciones del desarrollo sostenible en la información de actualidad

El trabajo aborda un estudio de las estrategias discursivas apreciables en el tratamiento informativo de la temática de la sostenibilidad y en particular, de los procesos de orientación del sentido que tales estrategias suscitan en torno al concepto de “desarrollo sostenible”.
El análisis textual de las agendas y de los procedimientos narrativos mediante los que se evalúa y gestiona la noticiabilidad de los acontecimientos del mundo, revela los mecanismos informativos de selección, prominencia y estabilización de construcciones de sentido desde los que se gestionan disuasivamente las tensiones y conflictos asociados a la cuestión de la sostenibilidad, sobre un horizonte de incertidumbre, de amenazas y de riesgo, de crisis y de catástrofes.
Los enunciados informativos, al enfocar sobre la expectativa de peligros inminentes e inexorables el marco de inteligibilidad de lo sostenible, interpelan la competencia interpretativa del destinatario, fomentando el incubado de representaciones sociales en el público. Tales representaciones restringen, bajo la presión de la urgencia y la necesidad, la pertinencia de otros discursos concurrentes en la definición, siempre comprometida, polémica y problemática de la sostenibilidad, a la vez que regulan las disputas por el acceso a la información y a sus espacios privilegiados de circulación.

The following work concerns a study of the discursive strategies discernible in the treatment by the news media of the issue of sustainability, and in particular, of the processes of meaning direction which these strategies given rise to within the concept of “sustainable development”.
A textual analysis of the agenda-setting and framing procedures presents in media news, reveals the selectivity, the prominence and the stabilisation of meaning constructs which dissuasively project the tensions and conflicts associated with the environmental question against a background of uncertainty, danger and risk, or of crisis and catastrophe, depending on the particular case concerned.
By focussing their frame of intelligibility of the environment on the expectation of imminent and inexorable dangers, news reports demand and determine the competence of the subject on the text, leading to the creation of social representations among the public. These representations both confront and restrict the pertinence of other expositions and ways of thinking concurrent within the definition of environmental problems and represents the disputes regarding access to a word and to its privileged areas of circulation within the field of sustainability, and it is one whose definition is always compromised, controversial and highly problematic.

Lan honetan jasangarritasunaren gaiari buruzko tratamendu informatiboetan bereizi daitezkeen estrategia diskurtsiboak aztertzen dira, bereziki estrategia hauek “garapen iraunkorraren” esanahia orientatzeko artikulatzen dituzten prozesuen antolamendua.
Testu-azterketak azalerazten ditu albisteen eraikuntzan txertatzen diren komunikabideen agendak eta berrien enkoadratzerako prozedurak. Prozedura hauen bitartez jasangarritasunaren arazoekin lotutako tentsioak eta gatazkak kudeatzen dira, haren zentzua mugatzeko eta normalizatzeko. Aldi berean, iraunkortasunarekin lotutako tentsioak eta arazoak ziurgabetasun, krisialdi eta hondamendi zeruertz batetan proiektatzen dituzte.
Enuntziatu informatiboek, jasangarritasunaren ulergarritasun arloa ezinbesteko eta berehalako arrisku-igurikimenetan fokatzen dutenean, jasotzailearen interpretazio-gaitasuna dei egiten dute eta gizarte-irudikapenen eraikuntza prozesuak sustatzen dituzte publikoarengan. Errepresentazio hauek, bestalde, mugatu egiten dute, premia eta beharraren presiopean, lehian daitezkeen beste diskurtsoen eta ahotsen egokitasuna, beti korapilatsua eta problematikoa den jasangarritasunaren definizioan.
