Resumen de Del mito a la praxis educativa: el efecto Pigmalión positivo y el desempeño de los docentes

  El artículo analiza la relación entre el efecto Pigmalión positivo y el desempeño de los docentes, lo que significa que las expectativas y creencias que tienen los docentes inciden en sus actitudes, preparación pedagógica, y en su práctica docente. Se comparará las investigaciones que algunos autores han realizado sobre el tema donde concluyen que el efecto Pigmalión positivo es un elemento importante que el docente debe manejar como una herramienta de motivación y creación de expectativas positivas hacia sus estudiantes con la finalidad de generar en ellos el desarrollo de potencialidades y retos que permitan empoderarse en su formación profesional. Además se presentará una investigación en la que participaron 40 docentes, donde se aplicó una investigación de tipo básica con enfoque cuantitativo y con diseño descriptivo no experimental cuyo objetivo fue establecer la relación entre el efecto Pigmalión positivo y el desempeño de los docentes de una universidad privada de Lima- Perú.

  The article analyzes the relationship between the positive Pygmalion effect and the performance of teachers, which means that the expectations and beliefs that teachers have affect their attitudes, pedagogical preparation, and their teaching practice. The investigations that some authors have carried out on the subject will be compared, where they conclude that the positive Pygmalion effect is an important element that the teacher must handle as a tool for motivation and the creation of positive expectations towards their students in order to generate in them the development of potentialities and challenges that allow them to empower themselves in their professional training. In addition, an investigation will be presented in which 40 teachers participated, where a basic type investigation with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental descriptive design was applied, whose objective was to establish the relationship between the positive Pygmalion effect and the performance of teachers of a private university from Lima Peru.
