Resumen de Razón y fe: aclaraciones del debate filosófico y teológico en el medioevo

  Este trabajo analiza el debate filosófico y teológico más importante del período medieval, a saber, la querella entre la razón y la fe. Esta cuestión debe ser abordada teniendo en cuenta que, en el medioevo, la realidad de Dios es el punto de partida del pensamiento y de la reflexión, por lo que las creencias religiosas constituyen el marco que posibilita y limita la eclosión de la argumentación y justificación racionales. Ahora bien, considero que es aconsejable no embarcarse en la espinosa cuestión de si es posible una filosofía cristiana, es decir, de si constituye o no una contradicción unir conceptualmente la religión y la filosofía.

  Para la consecución del objetivo propuesto, comienzo contextualizando la era medieval y, en un paso posterior, explico cómo convivieron, en los primeros siglos y bajo una directriz unitaria, los ámbitos de la teología y la filosofía. Después, estudio las centurias del X y el XII por cuanto permiten el asomo explícito de las diferencias entre la fe y la razón como dos maneras de acercarse a la realidad. Y, por último, el acercamiento al siglo XIV, el cierre de la época medieval que logra separar e incluso independizar ambos ámbitos. Todo ello para acabar con unas conclusiones que están enfocadas a aclarar los conceptos y temporalidades analizados a lo largo del trabajo.

  This study analyses the most important philosophical and theological debate of the medieval period, that is, the quarrel between reason and faith. This question must be approached bearing in mind that, in the Middle Ages, the reality of God is the starting point of thought and reflection, so that religious beliefs constitute the framework that makes possible and limits the emergence of rational argumentation and justification. However, I think it is advisable not to enter into the thorny question of whether a Christian philosophy is possible, I mean, whether or not it is a contradiction to conceptually unite Religion and Philosophy. In order to achieve the proposed objective, I begin by contextualising the medieval era and, in a subsequent step, I explain how, in the first centuries and under a unitary guideline, the fields of theology and philosophy coexisted. Then, I study the two centuries of the 10th and 11th centuries insofar as they allow the differences between faith and reason as two ways of approaching reality to be made explicit. And finally, the approach to the 14th century, the end of the medieval period, which manages to separate and even make the two spheres independent. All of this ends with conclusions that are focused on clarifying the concepts and temporalities analysed throughout the work.
