Las falsificaciones de la Historia: Cervantes entre Bragança y Sanabria

    En la histórica ciudad de Bragança, enclave transfronterizo y estratégico de la casa real portuguesa, se afirma en la actualidad que Miguel de Cervantes, probablemente después de 1562, haya podido visitar la ciudad –y no solo– ya que incluso se dice que pudo haber estudiado en el colegio de los jesuitas que desde aquella época existía en dicho lugar. Esta cuestión, no comprobada documentalmente en la actualidad, surge desde instancias de política cultural que quizás convengan a Sanabria –y a Zamora con ella– y a Bragança, ciudades hermanadas en muchos aspectos, entre ellos el turístico. Con este trabajo pretendo recopilar aquellos datos sanabreses y brigantinos sobre la vida del autor entre su nacimiento y su juventud, además de traer de nuevo a la actualidad la polémica del origen de Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, desmintiendo una serie de afirmaciones ofrecidas en el ámbito cultural de Bragança, claramente mal aconsejada, y así analizar a la luz de los datos imparciales la (im)probable documentación brigantina sobre el asunto.

    At the historical city of Bragança, cross-border and strategic location of the Portuguese Royal House, it is lately affirmed that Miguel de Cervantes, probably after 1562, may have visited the city –and not only that– because it is also being said that he may have studied at the Jesuists school that at that time existed in the city. This matter, not currently verifed with documents, arises from cultural political instances that may be of interest to Sanabria –together with Zamora– and Bragança, cities linked in many aspects, being the touristic one of them. In this work I intend to compile those data from Sanabria and Bragança, about the author’s life between his birth and his youth, and also bring back the focuss on the polemic about the origin of Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, refuting a number of statements given in the cultural environment of Bragança; clearly poorly advised, and so analyse in light of the impartial data the (un)likely documentation from Bragança on the matter.
