En un contexto de ideas sociales, regeneracionistas y republicanas, Ciges Aparicio se entrevistó en Santander (1907) con Galdós y con el eminente cirujano y dramaturgo positivista y empresario del Teatro Español de Madrid (1910-1913), Enrique Diego Madrazo, cuyas iniciativas filantrópicas el periodista valenciano vinculó al argumento de la comedia Pedro Minio (1908). Mediante una selección de documentos periodísticos y epistolares se ensaya una aproximación a la relación de Galdós con ambos intelectuales de alta talla moral aniquilados por la guerra civil, treinta años después.

In a context of social, regenerative and republican ideas, Ciges Aparicio met in Santander (1907) with Galdós and with the eminent surgeon and playwright positivist and entrepreneur of the Teatro Español in Madrid (1910-1913), Enrique Diego Madrazo, whose philanthropic initiatives the Valencian journalist linked to the argument of the comedy Pedro Minio (1908). Through a selection of journalistic and epistolar documents, an approximation of Galdós' relationship with both high moral intellectuals destroyed by the civil war, thirty years later, is rehearsed.
