Esta necrológica rinde homenaje a Lía Schwartz. Esta investigadora fue vicepresidenta de la asociación AISO, ostentó la máxima representación de AIH y fue considerada la mejor anfitriona del hispanismo mundial en Nueva York. Obtuvo su plaza definitiva en el Graduate Center de la CUNY. Lía Schwartz participó en numerosas conferencias y seminarios en muchos lugares de España y América. También se destaca su combinación de saberes griegos, latinos y hebreos, acomodados al enfoque más novedoso del hispanismo con su doctorado en la Universidad de Illinois (1967-1971), que facilitaron una perspectiva diferente. Finalmente, colaboró con Antonio Carreira en el volumen de ensayos Quevedo a nueva luz: escritura y política (1997) y realizó el homenaje a su profesor, Studies in Honor of James O. Crosby (2004).

This obituary pays tribute to Lía Schwartz. This researcher was vice president of the AISO association, held the highest representation of AIH and was considered the best host of world Hispanism in New York. He obtained his final position at the Graduate Center of the CUNY. Lía Schwartz participated in numerous conferences and seminars in many places in Spain and America. Also noteworthy is his combination of Greek, Latin and Hebrew knowledge, adapted to the newest approach of Hispanism with his doctorate at the University of Illinois (1967-1971), which facilitated a different perspective. Finally, he collaborated with Antonio Carreira in the volume of essays Quevedo a nueva luz: escritura y política (1997) and paid homage to his teacher, Studies in Honor of James O. Crosby (2004).
