Resumen de “Urkixote eta euskararen aurkako gurutzada”: buru bakarreko etsaia?

2017rarte Espainiako EAE-rako ordezkaria izan den Carlos Urkijok “etsai” asko irabazi zituen bere legegintzaldian zehar, batik bat euskalgintzan. Hori dela eta, izenburukoa bezalako hainbat ezizen jaso ditu eta bera izan da PP-ren hizkuntza politikan aurpegi garbiena. Hala ere, artikulu honen bitartez euskalgintzaren okerreko estrategia edota PP-ren polarizazio kanpaina bikaina izan direla ondorioztatu dugu, batik bat soziolinguistikan erabilitako hainbat kontzeptu ezezagunen argitan. Carlos Urquijo, the representative of the Spanish Government in the Basque Autonomous Community, finished his term in January 2017, after “making multiple enemies”, especially within social actors involved in the Basque language revitalization. By using some largely unknown sociolinguistics concepts, this article shows that the pro-Basque movement has wrongly targetted him as the main “enemy”, whereas the People’s Party of Spain has delivered a very effective strategy to use Urquijo as a scapegoat. The aims of this article, therefore, are both to help Basque language activists in their work and evaluate language policy.
