Mujeres en la cumbre corporativa: el caso de la Argentina

      El presente trabajo examina la situación actual de mujeres que han accedido a los más altos niveles de decisión en distintas empresas en la Argentina, analizando y comparando además las tendencias de su participación en la actividad económica del país y de la región. Se describen sus trayectorias de carrera, sus condiciones de trabajo, la compatibilización de roles y el nivel educativo alcanzado, identificando tipologías de carrera de acuerdo con las tendencias observadas. Junto con el análisis de datos a nivel nacional, se compararon algunas variables relacionadas con el desarrollo de carrera de mujeres ejecutivas en diferentes países de América Latina, de acuerdo a la información obtenida en el estudio realizado para el Proyecto MEPLA3. La comparación está dirigida a detectar semejanzas y diferencias entre los dos universos analizados y las tendencias registradas en investigaciones internacionales. El estudio utilizó una metodología cuali-cuantitativa y el análisis está basado en los resultados obtenidos de las entrevistas aplicadas a 20 mujeres.AbstractThis paper examines the present situation of women who are at the highest levels of decsion making in some companies in Argentina. It analyizes and compares the trends of their participation in the economy in the country and in the region. Their career, their workplace conditions and to what extent their roles are compatible with their education level aredescribed. Tipologies of careers according to the observed trends are identified. In addition to the analysis of data at the national level, several variables related to the development of careers of executive women in different countries in South America were compared, based on the information from the study carried out for the Project MEPLA (Women in decision making positions in Latin America: empirical results and observations). The comparison aims at identifying similarities and differences between the two universes analysed and the trends identified by research at the internacional level. The study was carried out using a cuali-cuantitative methodology and the analysis is based on data collected from the interviews to 20 women.
