  • Resumen
    • Campanella about the question of the distinction between essence and existence is in contrast with the traditional positions of the Dominican Order. The complex ontological articulation exposed in the Universalis philosophia, in fact, distances itself from the solutions of Thomas and Gaetano, preferring the real distinction of the Scotists school. This solution is more functional from Campanella point of view about the configuration of the ens according to the three primalities: power, knowledge and will that characterize his metaphysics. In the relationship between the one, generative principle of the ens, and the many, the Dominican identifies in the concept of unalitas, the key to keep together the complexity of the reality.

The resulting picture is an innovative synthesis between metaphysics and modern instances, typical of Campanella’s work.
