Resumen de ¿Hombres invencibles? Hablemos de desventajas

  Hablar de género, es analizar sobre las condiciones de vida de mujeres y hombres, sin embargo, poco se sabe de las necesidades que surgen en los hombres si nos detenemos a reflexionar sobre las posibles desventajas con las que también ellos tienen que aprender a vivir. Esta investigación se abordó desde el construccionismo social incorporando la perspectiva de género. El objetivo fue documentar el proceso de socialización y aprendizaje del ser hombre dentro del ambiente familiar, identificando algunas desventajas que viven los hombres en su proceso de construcción identitaria. La metodología fue cualitativa, se entrevistó a tres hombres y se utilizó el análisis de contenido como estrategia para trabajar la información obtenida. Los resultados mostraron cómo los aprendizajes de género se vuelven importantes en la construcción de hombres, ya que los participantes fueron educados siguiendo estos roles y estereotipos asignados socialmente, lo cual los conduce a ocultar sus verdaderas emociones por el temor a ser señalados o juzgados. Se sugiere abrir más espacios de reflexión sobre el tema, generando la importancia de atender las diferentes necesidades de esta población, reconociendo las desventajas que viven los hombres y cuestionando la idea del hombre fuerte e invencible.

  Talking about gender is analyzing on the living conditions of women and men, however, little is known about the needs that arise in men if we stop to reflect on the possible disadvantages with which they also must learn to live. This research was approached since the social constructionism, incorporating the gender perspective. The aim of this research was documenting the socialization and learning process of being a man within the family environment, identifying some disadvantages that men experience in their process of identity construction. The methodology was qualitative, three men were interviewed, and content analysis was used as a strategy to work on the information obtained. The results showed how gender learning becomes important in the construction of men, since the participants were educated following these socially assigned roles and stereotypes, which leads them to hide their true emotions for fear of being singled out or judged. It is suggested to open more spaces for reflection on the subject, generating the importance of meeting the different needs of this population, recognizing the disadvantages that men live and questioning the idea of the strong and invincible man.
