Since November 2021, the Library of the Botanical Garden of Pavia has been hosting a permanent exhibition called “Carteinorto: i percorsi”. The article focuses on the work done in the design phase, on the progresses and on the future aims. The focus is always placed on the mission of a university library, that is to offer students and teachers updated texts and cutting-edge services, and on how this can assume a museum function in certain circumstances. With the succession of paragraphs, which we hope will be a good guide for colleagues or curious people grappling with our own dynamics, we proceed to list the work phases, the tools used, the actors involved and the result obtained. The reader will have the impression of walking through the corridors, thanks to the use of photographs taken “live”, and of discovering the treasures of the library. The article consolidates as a written and retraceable memorandum of the activities carried out as part of the research grant activated for the 2022/2023 academic year by the Department of Humanities of the University of Pavia and coordinated by Prof. Lucia Roselli.
