    El presente artículo de investigación tiene como objetivo explorar las experiencias de participación de los jóvenes aspirantes al Concejo Municipal de Santa Isabel en las elecciones de 2019. Se determinó un estudio de caso; en primer lugar, se buscaron los antecedentes investigativos en bases de datos institucionales y oficiales, como Scielo, Redalyc y Dialnet. En segundo lugar, se sistematizó la información en una matriz para el análisis. Posteriormente, se diseñaron y aplicaron cinco entrevistas semiestructuradas a tres aspirantes al concejo, al alcalde municipal y a un concejal electo del municipio. El análisis permitió concluir que los argumentos de los entrevistados en torno a la participación política en los concejos municipales carecen de claridad en lo referente a las acciones políticas.

    The objective of this research article is to explore the experiences of participation of young candidates for the Municipal Council of Santa Isabel in the 2019 elections. A case study was determined; In the first place, the research background was searched in institutional and official databases, such as Scielo, Redalyc and Dialnet. Second, the information was systematized in a matrix for analysis. Subsequently, five semi-structured interviews were designed and applied to three candidates for the council, the municipal mayor and an elected councilor from the municipality. The analysis allowed us to conclude that the arguments of the interviewees regarding political participation in the municipal councils lack clarity in relation to political actions.
