Resumen de Apropiarse del derecho: movilización indígena y reforma agraria en el resguardo de Guambía

Durante mi investigación doctoral en el resguardo de Guambía, escuché cuantiosas veces misak y no misak hablar de la importancia de las luchas indígenas por la recuperación de tierras de resguardo entre 1970-1980. Estas luchas hicieron posible la ampliación del resguardo de Guambía y la formación de una organización indígena capaz de sentarse a negociar los derechos de los indígenas con el Gobierno nacional. En este artículo analizo las condiciones que permitieron el éxito de esta movilización social, que abarcan tanto la dimensión de la organización política, como el contexto socioeconómico de las tierras en conflicto y el contexto legal a nivel nacional.

During my doctoral research in the Guambía reservation, I heard numerous times Misak and non-Misak people talk about the importance of the indigenous struggles that helped to recover the reservation lands between 1970-1980. These struggles made it possible to expand the Guambía reservation and form an indigenous organization capable of sitting down to negotiate the rights of indigenous people with the national government. In this article I analyze the conditions that allowed the success of this social mobilization, which include the dimension of political organization, the socioeconomic context of the lands in conflict and the legal context at the national level.
