    Se sabe que en Mesoamérica se observaron durante milenios la vía láctea y el movimiento aparente del sol y la luna. Se identificaron constelaciones, y se registraron eclipses y cometas; Todo esto dentro de un culto religioso gracias al cual fue posible desarrollar el calendario.

    We know that for millenia Mesoamericans observed the Milky Way and the apparent movement of the sun and the moon. They identified constellations and recorded eclipses and comets, all in the context of a religious system that allowed them to develop a calendar.
