    SE DISCUTE SOBRE LOS CENTROS DE ORIGEN Y DIVERSIFICACIÓN GENÉTICA EN MÉXICO DEL MAÍZ Y LA INTRODUCCIÓN AL PAÍS DE HÍBRIDOS TRANSGÉNICOS. SE VINCULAN LOS TERRITORIOS DE LOS PUEBLOS INDÍGENAS ACTUALES CON LAS RAZAS DE MAÍZ. MÉXICO DEBE PONERSE A LA ALTURA DE SER UN PAÍS MEGADIVERSO PARA ENFRENTAR LOS RETOS ACTUALES Y FUTUROS.

    This article discusses centers of origin  and genetic divesification of domesticated plants in Mexico, in the context of the introduction of transgenic hybrids to Mexico. The teritories of present day indigenous groups are associated with strains of corn. Mexico needs to assume the responsabilities that go with its extraordinary biodiversity to face present and future challenges.
