El propósito es analizar la correspondencia entre criminalidad y migración en Chile, una mirada desde los medios comunicacionales, tomando en cuenta la realidad en cuanto a la percepción que los chilenos tienen de los venezolanos como inmigrantes. Es un estudio documental, con análisis de distintos autores como: Gutiérrez et al (2020), Guillén et al. (2019), Leiva et al. (2020), Bahar et al. (2020), Servicio Jesuita de Migración (2020, 2021) Organización Internacional para las Migraciones (2018), entre otros; quienes han pretendido visibilizar la situación experimentada por muchos inmigrantes cuando llegan a otros países para mejorar su calidad de vida, y no encuentran comprensión y empatía para superar las carencias y demostrar sus habilidades en empleos que pueden contribuir con su existencia. El resultado determinante es que la información y noticias, de medios de comunicación (radial, impresa, digital) afecta la realidad, influyendo en la percepción de los chilenos ante estos inmigrantes.

The purpose is to analyze the correspondence between crime and migration in Chile, a look from the communication media, taking into account the reality regarding the perception that Chileans have of Venezuelans as immigrants. It is a documentary study, with analyzes by different authors such as: Gutiérrez et al (2020), Guillén et al. (2019), Leiva et al. (2020), Bahar et al. (2020), Jesuit Migration Service (2020, 2021) International Organization for Migration (2018), among others; who have tried to make visible the situation experienced by many immigrants when they arrive in other countries to improve their quality of life, and do not find understanding and empathy to overcome deficiencies and demonstrate their skills in jobs that can contribute to their existence. The determining result is that information and news from the media (radio, print, digital) affects reality, influencing the perception of Chileans regardingthese immigrants.
