Limiting factors of child development in children up to 5 years of age in the Battalion Community of the suburb of Guayaquil

    El artículo abordó los factores que limitan la influencia que ejerce la comunidad en el desarrollo infantil, al ser este un derecho universal que poseen los niños, es necesario tenerlo presente y actuar en condiciones donde no sea favorable. Su objetivo fue analizar los factores que limitan el desarrollo infantil de los niños en la etapa de 0 a 5 años en la comunidad Batallón del Suburbio en el Sur de Guayaquil. Los resultados son productos de un diagnóstico realizado en el año 2021 basado en un proyecto de investigación “Influencia de la comunidad Batallón del Suburbio en el Sur de Guayaquil, en el Desarrollo Infantil Integral de los niños de 0 a 5 años”, que se desprende de la carrera Desarrollo Infantil Integral del Instituto Superior Universitario Espíritu Santo. La metodología empleada fue una investigación de tipo cuantitativa, diseño de campo, la cual se concretó con la aplicación de un cuestionario a la muestra seleccionada de la comunidad objeto de estudio. Se concluyó que, en la comunidad, muchos niños tienen serias carencias afectivas, debilidades nutricionales, falta de atención en el área de salud, deficiencias educativas, elementos estos que afectan notablemente su desarrollo infantil. Ello exige la necesidad de la aplicación inmediata de mecanismos de ayuda para solventar o minimizar en ese niño o niña, los efectos nefastos en su crecimiento físico y emocional que actualmente están limitando su desarrollo.

    The article addressed the factors that limit the influence that the community exerts on child development, since this is a universal right that children possess, it is necessary to keep it in mind and act in conditions where it is not favorable. Its objective was to analyze the factors that limit the child development of children in the 0 to 5 years of age in the Suburb Battalion community in the South of Guayaquil. The results are the product of a diagnosis made in 2021 based on a research project "Influence of the Suburb Battalion community in the South of Guayaquil, on the Integral Child Development of children from 0 to 5 years old", which emerges from the Integral Child Development career of the Instituto Superior Universitario Espíritu Santo. The methodology used was quantitative research, field design, which materialized with the application of a questionnaire to the selected sample of the community under study. It was concluded that, in the community, many children have serious affective deficiencies, nutritional weaknesses, lack of care in the area of health, educational deficiencies, elements that significantly affect their child development. This requires the need for the immediate application of aid mechanisms to solve or minimize in that child, the harmful effects on his or her physical and emotional growth that are currently limiting his or her development.
