    En este artículo se analizan aspectos de la vida económica de la Compañía de Jesús al momento de su expulsión de la provincia de Santafé (Bogotá). Se estudian características del mercado interno jesuita, las relaciones entre el circuito hacienda-colegio, el funcionamiento y especialización de sus haciendas de ganado, y las tácticas que manejaban frente al mercado de la carne. Como objetivo se busca analizar algunas estrategias efectuadas por los jesuitas, quienes permitieron el desarrollo de la red económica en la Provincia de Santafé, activas al momento de su expulsión, en 1767. Para ello, se contrastan diferentes fuentes primarias de archivo que exponen cifras sobre la vida económica de los ignacianos. Se concluye con varios elementos que replantean la magnitud de los jesuitas neogranadinos y la mayor incidencia que tuvieron en la esfera ganadera y agrícola del virreinato.

    This article analyzes aspects of the economic life of the Society of Jesus at the time of their expulsion from the province of Santafe (Bogota). Characteristics of the Jesuit domestic market are studied, as well as the relations between the hacienda/colegio circuit, the operation and specialization of their cattle haciendas, and the tactics they used in relation to their main product: meat. The objective is to analyze some of the strategies carried out by the Jesuits that allowed the development of the economic network in the Province of Santafe at the time of their expulsion, in 1767. This work compares figures that shed light on the economic life of the Ignatians. It concludes with several elements that rethink the magnitude of the New Granada Jesuits and the incidence they had in the cattle and agricultural sphere of the viceroyalty.
