Resumen de España y su frontera sur en el contexto de la Unión Europea: un siglo de conflictos económicos y políticos

  Las opciones de futuro de la frontera hispano-marroquí, y de los territorios españoles en el Norte de África, que conforman uno de los flancos de la frontera sur de la Unión Europea, deben considerar que las soluciones a los conflictos actuales deben tener presente la propia configuración histórica de la frontera, los enfrentamientos que han venido sucediendo y el variado catálogo de funciones desempeñadas desde su origen hasta la actualidad. El estudio aborda desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar, analítica, interpretativa y crítica recurriendo a fuentes originales y a expertos en la materia una visión los elementos de esta relación histórica que marcan actualmente las políticas de seguridad de España y La Unión Europea. Una revisión de la literatura realizada desde diversos campos, políticos, económicos e históricos, que nos lleva a pensar que los grandes desafíos actuales de estos territorios fronterizos deben ser repensados, ofreciendo propuestas dinámicas que beneficien ambos lados del flanco Sur europeo. El cierre de la frontera, el fin del comercio atípico y la clausura de las interacciones transfronterizas de Ceuta y Melilla con los territorios marroquíes colindantes, son hechos que implican, necesariamente su reinvención y esta investigación nos acerca a posibles soluciones dentro de un amplio de relaciones.

  The options for the future of the Spanish-Moroccan border and the Spanish territories in North Africa, which form one of the flanks of the southern border of the European Union, must consider that the solutions to the current conflicts must take into account the historical configuration of the border itself. These confrontations have been taking place and the varied functions performed from its origin to the present day. The study approaches from a multidisciplinary, analytical, interpretative and critical perspective, resorting to sources and experts in the field, a vision of the elements of this historical relationship that currently mark the security policies of Spain and the European Union. A review of the literature from various fields, political, economic and historical, leads us to think that the tremendous current challenges of these border territories must be rethought, offering dynamic proposals that benefit both sides of the European South flank. The closure of the border, the end of atypical trade and the closure of cross-border interactions of Ceuta and Melilla with the adjoining Moroccan territories are facts that necessarily imply their reinvention. This research brings us closer to possible solutions within a wide range of relations.
