  • Resumen
    • For thirty years, the Valencian company Pot de Plom has been known forworking with comedy from a parodic and irreverent point of view, in astyle unique within Catalan contemporary theatre. Its director and mainactor is Xavi Castillo, a clown with gesticulatory skills, who has dedicatedhis artistic talent chiefly to political satire of the most provocative kind.In his work he develops the playful, scatological Valencian tradition andthe sense and technique of modern, critical, unrestrained humour whichhave their direct antecedents in El Tricicle, Els Joglars, the Colombaioni,Johnny Melville, and Pepe Rubianes. This chapter studies the evolution ofthe company and its director, its shows, the social context in which theyare performed, their public reception, and the essential points of Castillo'sacting .
