La salud y la cultura son dos derechos que, para nuestra desgracia, pocas veces se conciben como complementarios. Más bien al contrario, nuestro derecho a la salud y nuestro derecho a la cultura suelen entenderse de forma aislada y excluyente. No obstante, lo que venimos necesitando desde hace tiempo es un marco que no nos obligue a elegir entre un derecho o el otro. El horizonte deseable, más bien, sería no tener que priorizar entre salud o cultura, sino poner a trabajar de la mano a la cultura y la atención sanitaria.

Health and culture are two rights that, unfortunately, are rarely conceived as complementary. Quite the contrary, our right to health and our right to culture are often understood in an isolated and exclusive way. However, what we have been needing for a long time is a framework that does not force us to choose between one right or the other. Rather, the desirable horizon would be not to have to prioritize between health or culture, but to put culture and health care to work hand in hand.
