La interpretación sobre la representación de las mujeres en el arte rupestre levantino se ha hecho desde una mirada androcéntrica desde los estudiosos del arte levantino de principios del siglo XX y ha pervivido hasta el presente. Concretamente, las mujeres levantinas representadas en las pinturas del Cogul se han interpretado como dependientes de la figura masculina situada cerca de ellas, obviando un posible protagonismo en la escena principal donde ellas podrían ejercer una función política-social relevante. Este artículo trata de revisar las lecturas antiguas y actualizarlas desde la mirada que nos ofrece la Arqueología Feminista con el objetivo de divulgar a través de la educación patrimonial que se lleva a cabo en el Centro de Interpretación de la Roca de los Moros del Cogul, una prehistoria más justa donde las mujeres estaban presentes y eran protagonistas de la construcción histórica.

The interpretation of the representation of women in Levantine rock art has been carried out from an androcentric point of view by scholars of Levantine art at the beginning of the 20th century and has survived to the present day. Specifically, the Levantine women depicted in the Cogul paintings have been interpreted as dependent on the male figure located near them, ignoring a possible leading role in the main scene where they could exercise a relevant political-social function. This article aims to revise the old readings and update them from the perspective offered by Feminist Archaeology with the aim of disseminating, through the heritage education carried out at the Interpretation Centre of the Roca dels Moros del Cogul, a fairer prehistory in which women were present and were protagonists of the historical construction.
