    El presente trabajo pretende analizar la noción de la fotografía surgida en los primeros años de la Rusia revolucionaria (1921-1929). Los estudios tradicionales sobre las imágenes producidas durante este período las inscriben en una perspectiva que la entiende como símbolo icónico. Este artículo se propone examinar el alcance de dicha concepción y, a partir del análisis de la semiótica peirceana y del cruce con elementos del contexto social, repensar el vínculo entre los fotógrafos, la nueva vida soviética y la fotografía. En esta línea, se sugiere que la noción de índex permitiría entender con mayor claridad el rol de la fotografía durante los primeros años revolucionarios.

    The present work analyzes the notion of the photography during the first years of revolutionary Russia (1921-1929). Traditional studies on images that were produced during this period inscribe them in a perspective that understands photography as an iconic symbol. This article discusses the scope of this conception. Taking the analysis of Peirce’s semiotics and crossing it with elements of the social context, it proposes to rethink the link between photographers, the new soviet life and photography. In this line, it is suggested that the notion of index would make possible to understand more clearly the role of the photographic during the first revolutionary years.
