    From its very beginning, the phenomenon of Latin American migration towards the United States has aroused great interest among artists in Mexico, which was primarily concerned by this exodus. From the 1950s and continuing to today, numerous cinematographers have railed against the tragic fate of these thousands of migrants. However, starting several years ago, a certain number of directors have attempted to provide a different way of looking at this difficult reality, among which Rigoberto Perezcano with his film Norteado (2009). Norteado tells the story of Andrés, a young migrant who finds himself stuck in Tijuana, unable to make it across the border. Thus, the film's focus is not on the actual crossing of the border, but rather on the stage that precedes it, namely his stay in Tijuana where, thanks to his positive encounters, Andrés becomes norteado in the end, both completely disoriented and won over by the North of Mexico. This article studies how Perezcano, who moves between documentary and fiction, presents this other facet of the migrant's epic in the most realistic way possible. He thus succeeds -- without pathos or melodrama, and with a certain sense of poetry -- in immersing us in the intimate experience of Andrés' journey.

    Dès qu’il s’est amorcé, le phénomène de migration latino-américaine vers les Etats-Unis a suscité un intérêt majeur chez les artistes du Mexique, premier pays concerné par cet exode. Sur le plan cinématographique, des années 1950 à nos jours, de nombreux cinéastes ont dénoncé le sort tragique de ces milliers de migrants. Depuis quelques années, un certain nombre de réalisateurs tentent d’apporter un regard différent sur cette dure réalité, c’est le cas de Rigoberto Perezcano et de son film Norteado (2009). Norteado est l’histoire d’Andrés, un jeune migrant qui se retrouve bloqué à Tijuana, sans parvenir à passer la frontière. Ainsi, ce n’est pas tant la traversée de la frontière que nous raconte le film mais l’étape antérieure, le séjour à Tijuana où, grâce aux rencontres humaines que fait Andrés, il finit par être « norteado », déboussolé et gagné par le Nord mexicain. Cet article étudie comment Perezcano, jonglant entre documentaire et fiction, nous présente de la manière la plus réaliste qui soit, cette autre facette de l’épopée du migrant. Il parvient ainsi, sans pathos ni mélodrame, et avec un certain sens de la poésie, à nous plonger dans l’expérience intime du voyage d’Andrés.
