  Los estudios arqueológicos efectuados en una unidad residencial del sitio “Lomita del medio” asignable al primer milenio de la Era nos han permitido identificar la presencia de 11 pozos en su interior.  El objetivo principal de este trabajo se dirige a discutir el rol que cumplieron estos pozos en la vida cotidiana de los habitantes de La Ciénega. Específicamente, nos interesa conocer los motivos por los que las personas incluían estos rasgos en el interior de sus viviendas. Al igual que los fogones o la cerámica, estas estructuras integraron la cotidianeidad y estuvieron íntimamente involucradas en la producción y mantenimiento de categorías e identidades que a su vez fueron inherentemente inestables y variables.

  Archaeological studies carried out in a residential unit of the "Lomita del medio" site, which can be dated to the first millennium AD, have allowed us to identify the presence of 11 pits.  The main objective of this paper is to discuss the role that these pits had in the daily life of the inhabitants of La Cienega. Specifically, we are interested in determining the reasons why people included these features in the interior of their dwellings.
