Resumen de Relación entre traficantes de cocaína y las FARC: Años 80

A partir de una revisión bibliográfica exhaustiva, en el presente artículo se pretende cumplir con dos objetivos: en primer lugar, describir de manera somera lo que fue en los años 80, en torno al mercado de la coca-cocaína, la relación existente entre los traficantes de cocaína ―principalmente algunos pertenecientes al grupo de Medellín como Rodríguez Gacha― y la guerrilla de las Farc; y en segunda lugar, a partir de esta descripción demostrar que la relación entre estos dos actores, si se dio en su momento, fue de manera funcional, es decir, por conveniencia de intereses individuales, y que, por lo tanto, no fue una relación estable entre dos socios, como muchos argumentan y como de hecho se aseguró bajo la tesis de la narcoguerrilla, tesis que fue defendida en aquel entonces por los gobiernos de turno de Colombia y los Estados Unidos.

Starting from an exhaustive bibliographical revision, this article pretend to accomplish two objectives: in the first place, to describe in a shallow way the existing relationship around the coca-cocaine market between the traffickers of cocaine ―mainly some belonging to the Medellin group such as Rodriguez Gacha― and the FARC guerrilla during the 80s; and secondly, starting from this description, to demonstrate that the relationship between these two actors, if it was given ever in its moment, occurred in a functional way, that is to say, for convenience of individual interests, and as a consequence, it wasn’t a stable relationship between two partners, as it is suggested by many people, and as it was guaranteed under the drug terrorism thesis at that time defended by the Colombian and the United States governments in command.
