After studying the relations between Lima Barreto and Anatole France and between Lima Barreto and Graciliano Ramos, it remained alive the desire to examine more accurately something that got my attention since the first readings of Lima Barreto’s work: the analogies. Having as premises, Alfredo Bosi’s analyses about the skin images on Lima Barreto and the critical approach of Antônio Arnoni Prado about the language exposure in Barreto’s work, I tried to rethink the relation between the body and the world in Isaías Caminha’s skin. The starting point to these thoughts was the message from the nature according to Roberto Zular, some concepts developed by the Martinican writer Édouard Glissant and the critical perspective of counter-focalization carried by the Indian critical, Gayatri Spivak.
