Envelhecimento, gênero e sexualidade na literatura: um estudo de “O Ateneu” de Raul Pompéia

    This article aims to analyze the representations about aging, gender and sexuality in the work of Raul Pompéia, specifically in O Ateneu. Therefore, it carried out a qualitative and exploratory research, highlighting the moments of the book in which the premises that support the analysis arise. The corpus was analyzed from the theoretical contributions of Roger Chartier (2002) and Michel Foucault (1988, 1996, 1999, 2001 and 2005). It appears that the issues related to aging, gender and sexuality constitute a discursive field marked by power relations, which determine the way in which a  society observes each of the mentioned fields. From this context, standards of conduct and behavior are created responsible for disciplining these bodies and conducting them properly, relegating to subalternity and silencing all forms that are not consistent with this architecture. It is not uncommon to observe the use of violence and coercion as a way of obliterating these differences, objectifying the subjects and preventing their full manifestation.

    Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar as representações sobre envelhecimento, gênero e sexualidade na obra de Raul Pompéia, especificamente em O Ateneu. Para tanto, realizou uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo e cunho exploratório destacando os momentos do livro em que as premissas que embasam a análise surgem. O corpus foi analisado a partir das contribuições teóricas de Roger Chartier (2002) e Michel Foucault (1988, 1996, 1999, 2001 e 2005). Constata-se que as questões pertinentes ao envelhecimento, gênero e sexualidade constituem em um campo discursivo marcado por relações de poder, as quais determinam a maneira como uma sociedade observa cada um dos campos enunciados. A partir desse contexto criam-se padrões de conduta e comportamento responsáveis por disciplinar esses corpos e conduzi-los de maneira adequada, relegando a subalternidade e ao silenciamento todas as formas que não sejam condizentes com esta arquitetura. Não raro, observa-se o uso da violência e da coerção como forma de obliteração dessas diferenças, objetificando os sujeitos e impedindo a sua manifestação plena.
