    This article analyzes the construction of the cinematic space in José Luis Guerin’s documentary En Construccion (2003). The visual and sound elements are combined to shape the space of the neighborhood-city: that of the closed microcosm of the changing Barrio Chino, which traps its inhabitants destined for disappearance; that of the palimpsests of temporalities and finally the complementary spaces of the « here », « there » and « elsewhere », according to the terminology defined by André Gardies, these two last dimensions being particularly introduced through sound in the apparently closed Barcelona neighborhood of Raval.

    Cet article analyse la construction de l’espace filmique dans le documentaire de José Luis Guerin En Construcción (2003). Les éléments visuels et sonores se combinent pour modeler l’espace de la ville-quartier : celui du microcosme fermé du Barrio Chino en mutation qui enferme ses habitants destinés à disparaitre ; celui du palimpseste des temporalités et enfin les espaces complémentaires de l’ici, du « là » et de l’ailleurs, selon la terminologie définie par André Gardies, ces deux dernières dimensions s’introduisant tout particulièrement par le biais du son dans le quartier barcelonais apparemment clos du Raval.
