    El origen de la población del archipiélago canario ha pasado por varios procesos de investigación en donde las narraciones que los acompañan han sido fundamentales para la construcción de la identidad canaria actual y sus nacionalismos. En este artículo, la literatura se presenta como una posibilidad alternativa a la historia oficial, narrando la historia cultural de Canarias y entrelazando los espacios que han participado en la construcción de la identidad cultural canaria y sus nacionalismos. A través de una lectura decolonial latinoamericana, Los Lenguas Cortadas (2020) de Cirilo Leal permite hacer un análisis que demuestra cómo las identidades culturales y los nacionalismos se modifican a partir de las narraciones y de los documentos históricos oficiales que los acompañen./The origin of the population of the Canarian archipelago and the culture of the indigenous community of the Canary Islands have undergone several processes of research whose narratives have been fundamental for the development of the current Canarian cultural identity and its nationalisms. In this article, literature becomes an alternative possibility to the official history, narrating the cultural history of the Canary Islands and intertwining the spaces that have participated in the process. Through a Latin American-decolonial reading, the novel Los Lenguas Cortadas (2020), by Cirilo Leal, allows an analysis that shows how the narration of the official history modifies cultural identities and nationalisms.
