    The article presents an overview of the political cultures active within the labour movement and the Catalan popular sectors throughout the nineteenth century. I give a diachronic example based on the meaning and interpretations of what was meant by socialism throughout the nineteenth century. However, a long-term perspective does not mean to ignore the chronology, and I devote a section to the working-class and popular militancy of the eight hundred years before republicanism and Catalanism. The article also reflects extensively on Catalan trade unionism throughout the nineteenth century.

    L’article présente un aperçu des cultures politiques actives au sein du mouvement ouvrier et des secteurs populaires catalans tout au long du XIXe siècle. Je donne un exemple diachronique basé sur le sens et les interprétations de ce que l’on entendait par socialisme tout au long du XIXe siècle. Cependant, une perspective à long terme ne signifie pas ignorer la chronologie, et je consacre une section aux militantismes ouvriers et populaires des huit cents ans avant le républicanisme et le catalanisme. L’article reflète également de manière approfondie le syndicalisme catalan tout au long du XIXe siècle.
