Resumen de Organizaciones de la sociedad civil: una mirada a su participación en la defensa y protección de los derechos humanos en Yucatán

Este artículo presenta un panorama general de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil (OSC) que realizan actividades en el ámbito de los derechos humanos en el Estado de Yucatán, con la finalidad de ayudar a comprender su labor y de qué manera pueden incidir para mejorar la situación de los derechos humanos en la entidad. Se realizó un estudio mixto que en su fase cuantitativa permitió caracterizar el perfil general de las OSC y en su fase cualitativa conocer las particularidades del trabajo que realizan. Los resultados permiten dimensionar las acciones que las OSC llevan a cabo en materia de derechos humanos, así como identificar aspectos que no están siendo suficientemente atendidos y pueden representar áreas de oportunidad para que las OSC incrementen su participación como elementos de cambio hacia una transformación significativa en los derechos humanos en Yucatán.

This article presents an overview of civil society organizations (CSOs) that carry out activities in the field of human rights in the state of Yucatan, with the aim of helping to understand their work and how they can have an impact on improving the human rights situation in the state. A mixed study was carried out, which in its quantitative phase allowed us to characterize the general profile of CSOs and in its qualitative phase to know the particularities of the work they carry out. The results allow us to dimension the actions that CSOs carry out in the area of human rights, as well as to identify aspects that are not being sufficiently addressed and may represent areas of opportunity for CSOs to increase their participation as elements of change towards a significant transformation in human rights in Yucatan.
