    Hay importantes problemas generados en la movilidad urbana de la ciudad de Portoviejo a través del sistema de transporte público, una problemática cuyo enfoque principal es determinar indicadores sobre la infraestructura y la dotación del servicio. Esta coyuntura permite analizar e indagar sobre tres aspectos importantes del transporte en la ciudad de Portoviejo, que serán ejes fundamentales para la investigación: la infraestructura vial, la calidad del servicio y la demanda con los posibles efectos que conlleva la pandemia de la COVID-19 en la vida social urbana. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo determinar, en diferentes ámbitos, los niveles de servicios y el estado actual de la infraestructura correspondiente al transporte. El interés en cuantificar y cualificar dichos parámetros radica en incentivar el uso del transporte urbano colectivo y generar la accesibilidad espacial que dicho servicio requiere. A través de los resultados obtenidos en la investigación, se determina el uso del transporte público como una opción óptima que permite la movilización de personas y bienes.

    There are problems generated by urban mobility of the city Portoviejo of through the systems of public transportation, where it focuses on the determination of infrastructure and public service signs, this joint takes us to reflect upon three major aspects of transportation in the city of Portoviejo, which are the focus points in this article, such as road infrastructure, service quality and the demands of urban social life with the possible effects that may be caused regarding the pandemic of COVID-19. This research has as its goal to determinate in different aspects, the level of public service and the current state of the infrastructure regarding transportation, the interest to qualify and quantify these parameters is to incentive the use of the urban public transports and to create the space accessibility this service requires, Through the results obtained in the research, the use of public transport is determined as an optimal option that allows the mobilization of people and goods.
