    El artículo precisa la presencia de la Divina Comedia en los cuentos y en los poemas de Jorge Luis Borges, tratando de reducir a términos justos y comprobables la influencia de Dante Alighieri en la obra del escritor argentino, sin duda exagerada por la mayor parte de quienes han abordado esa relación. Con atención especial para el inevitable relato «El Aleph», se examinan los textos que evidencian la relación entre ambos autores, textos que muestran a lo largo de los años un proceso que no conviene interpretar en términos de influencia, aunque queden patentes, eso sí, tanto la peculiar lectura que Borges hizo de la Comedia como la adecuación que esta sufrió al servicio de un proyecto notoriamente personal.

    The article specifies the presence of the Divine Comedy in the stories and poems of Jorge Luis Borges, trying to reduce to fair and verifiable terms the influence of Dante Alighieri in the work of the Argentine writer, undoubtedly exaggerated by most of those who have addressed that relationship. Paying special attention to the inevitable story «El Aleph», the texts that show the relationship between both authors are examined, texts that show a process over the years that should not be interpreted in terms of influence, even if they are evident, yes, both the peculiar reading that Borges made of the Comedy and the adaptation that it underwent at the service of a notoriously personal project.
